TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) – Deputies with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Trinity man after responding to a complaint and reporting to find multiple dogs malnourished.
Christopher James Rode, 35, is charged with five counts of misdemeanor-A cruelty to non-livestock animals, misdemeanor-A resisting arrest, misdemeanor-B failure to identify and multiple Class C misdemeanors.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the 200 block of Elephant Walk Street on Tuesday for complaints of dogs at large. Deputies found two dogs in the front of the house and several others on chains from the road that were severely malnourished. Another was found in a small kennel without shelter, according to their Facebook post.
The post states Rode was confrontational and resisted being arrested and had to be pepper sprayed.
Deputies removed eight dogs from the property.
