TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A girl suffered serious injuries when a dog bit her Saturday evening, and her mother now faces a felony charge for leaving her unsupervised, according to police.
Police arrested Samantha Letrice Brown, 34, on Saturday night, according to jail records. Officers said she left her daughter unsupervised at a location, which was redacted in court documents.
Around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Toledo police officers said the girl was bit by a dog near a home on Jermain Drive, down the street from where her mother lives.
The girl sustained “serious injuries” from the dog bite, police said in court documents.
Brown faces a third-degree felony child endangerment charge. She’s due to be arraigned Monday.
Court documents didn’t say how old the child is or her current condition.
