I am ticked off at the lady who was walking three dogs tonight while on the phone and only one dog was leashed. First, not leashing your dog is against the law. Second, you expected your dogs to respond to voice command. Well, sometimes they don’t. I was walking through a public park and a professionally trained attack dog was off leash and no matter how much the owner yelled for the dog to stop the dog came at me. Luckily I had the sense to stand very still until the owner collected the dog. And third, you were on the phone. Really? Walking and picking up after three dogs was not keeping you busy enough? Oh, that’s right, you probably don’t pick up after your dogs either because you have the phone in one hand and the leash in the other.
I live in Palm Bay. Why am I awakened by emergency alerts on my phone for a child who’s missing 100 miles away? Am I supposed to throw on clothes, grab a flashlight, and drive two hours to look for them?
I watch local news for the news and weather reports. I do not care what the anchors are wearing, or what their hair looks like. I do not dwell in minutiae.
I am saddened by our high school drama teacher’s overemphasis on her productions going to state. She overworks and is rude to the students and It costs families hundreds of dollars to participate.
The flip side
Our car battery died at Walgreen’s (Lockwood Boulevard) the other night. Oviedo Police Officer Vargus was working on a traffic stop in the Walgreen’s parking lot. My companion walked over to see if the officer could help. She said sure, let me get a battery booster box delivered. It soon was and she gave us a jump start, then shepherded us over to Auto Zone where we bought a new battery and a nice young man changed it out for us. Let us celebrate the good in our community!
