Three dogs, three cats removed from Elgin home in possible animal neglect case

ELGIN, Iowa (KCRG) – Three dogs and three cats were removed from a home in Elgin on Tuesday after law enforcement were called about a possible animal neglect case.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said it was called to the home in the 100 block of Pleasant Street at around 8 a.m.

The sheriff’s office did not provide details on the condition of the animals, but did say the dogs were taken to the Valley Vet Clinic for evaluation.

Officials have not said whether charges are pending in this case. It remains under investigation.
