Three dogs die, homeowner displaced in Murfreesboro house fire

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – Three dogs died in a house in Murfreesboro on Wednesday night.

According to Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue, multiple crews responded to the residence in the 1300 block of Edgewood Court and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the house and quickly worked on suppressing the fire.

Once the fire was brought under control, firefighters began searching the home after the homeowner, who escaped safely, told them three dogs were still inside. The dogs were located and removed but did not survive, according to Murfreesboro Fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
