THPD says police dogs helped make two arrests

The Terre Haute Police Department announced two Monday drug arrests that involved the use of police dogs.

In the first, officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of North Third Street and Peyton Road with K9 Vader, who alerted for narcotics, police said. During the subsequent vehicle search, officers located over a pound of cocaine.

Elexei Sanchez-Martinez, 41, of Kalamazoo, Mich. was arrested and charged with dealing cocaine, THPD said.

Later the same day, officers responded to Thompson Street and West Margaret Avenue following a report of an individual sought on warrants. Officers located that person, who ran from them.

K9 Kick located John North, 55, of Terre Haute, hiding in the fender well of a nearby tractor.

North was taken into custody without further incident and charged with resisting law enforcement, false informing, and multiple warrant charges on methamphetamine-related alleged crimes.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
