Can the ultimate black handbag be dethroned? It would certainly seem so, since chocolate and hazelnut counterparts dominated the catwalks for fall/winter 2024. Just take a look at Acne Studios. The Swedish fashion house’s artistic director created an aged-effect leather version of the brand’s iconic Multipoches bag. Meanwhile, for her first show for Chloé, Chemena Kamali opted for XXL models with a bag featuring dramatized volumes, while Burberry created an object of desire where the concept of minimalism reigns supreme.

Street style personalities have been quick to adopt the trend. While some are opting for classic handbag formats, others are choosing oversized models, or rectangular shapes that are right on trend. And not just in chocolate, but every possible variation on the color brown.
