Meet Lilo and Dolly. How precious are these faces? It breaks my heart to think of what their future could be if we don’t act quickly to find them homes. Both of them are sponsored, which means their adoptions are free! Let me tell you a little about them.
Lilo is a Very Good Girl
Daviess County Animal Care and Control volunteer, Haleigh Morris told me, “Lilo would do good in a home being the only dog and without any cats. She loves playing with toys but tennis balls are her all-time favorite!
She is easy to walk on the leash. After playtime, she would love to cuddle up on the couch.” That sounds pretty perfect, not gonna lie! Lilo is about two years old.
Dolly is Also a Very Good Girl
“Dolly can be shy at first but with some treats and love, she will blossom right out of her shell! She enjoys walks but really just wants a home where she can receive unlimited cuddles and kisses.
Dolly came into the shelter as a stray. She has a really bad skin irritation which left her with a large amount of hair loss. With the help of the shelter, she has had the chance to heal and will continue to heal in a loving and caring home.” Haleigh shared. Dolly is about four years old.
Longest Daviess County Animal Shelter Residents
Lilo and Dolly are both pitbull mixes, up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. Both of them are also sponsored, which means their adoptions are free! A sweet and generous soul made a donation towards Dolly’s medical expenses as well.
The amazing staff and volunteers at the Daviess County Animal Shelter are doing the absolute best they can, but the shelter, like many across the country, is bursting at the seams. These two girly pups are the longest residents there and they have until this Saturday at 3 PM before they are unfortunately euthanized.
They are anxious. They are tired. They still have hope that someone will come to rescue them! They deserve to understand what real love feels like. If you agree and want to give them a forever home, here is the adoption application. If you can’t give them a permanent home, but still want to help, you could temporarily foster them or even just share their story. You’ll literally be saving their lives.
And while I have your attention, I gotta do my best Bob Barker impersonation,
SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE!
Every breeder, every accidental litter is contributing to overfilled shelters and perfectly wonderful animals suffering.
