Welcome to the Week in Fashion, Bazaar’s at-a-glance guide to what the industry is talking about.

Dua Lipa Stars in New Short Film as the Face of the Chanel 25

Dua Lipa is feeling radically optimistic about Chanel’s latest offering.

Early this morning, the “Houdini” singer was named the face of the French maison’s newest handbag: the Chanel 25. The news was revealed with a short film shared across Chanel’s various social media pages. In it, Lipa is seen rocking the spacious shoulder bag while “She Drives Me Crazy” by Fine Young Cannibals plays in the background.

Throughout the film, directed by Gordon von Steiner, Lipa is seen sporting the new quilted black bag while walking through New York City. A statement from the brand reads: “An artistic icon of her generation, the friend of the House embodies the freedom of movement and self-expression so dear to Chanel.”

The relationship between Lipa and the French fashion house goes way back, as she’s collaborated with Chanel on numerous occasions, most notably when she wore three of the brand’s looks while co-chairing the Met Gala in 2023. Stay tuned to see the full campaign, which will be released in March.

Willy Chavarria Teams Up With Kendrick Lamar for a Super Bowl Collab

As if Willy Chavarria’s streetwear cred weren’t already through the roof, the New York City-based designer has now collaborated with Kendrick Lamar for a special capsule collection to celebrate the artist’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance.

In a statement, Chavarria said, “I partnered with Kendrick Lamar’s pgLang and the NFL because of the opportunity to reach an audience that feels familiar to me – geared up with the Super Bowl on, making it an annual holiday. Kendrick performing is so monumental given his voice on the empowerment of Brown and Black people and I love his pure L.A. heart. This project was an intimate collaboration with the pgLang team. We spent a lot of time on the fits and the vibe, and Kendrick tied in everything to get it spot on. Working with Kendrick is an important cultural moment for the two of us. We both have an unwavering voice when it comes to our people.”

The first time the pair teamed up was in 2023, when Chavarria designed custom festival looks for Lamar. Now, their new capsule (which you can shop here) celebrates Lamar’s latest achievement with a hoodie, tee, jersey, gym shorts, and a bomber jacket.

Balenciaga Puts a Playful Spin on Paparazzi Pics in Latest Le City Campaign

While paparazzi photos are often seen as a somewhat predatory practice, Balenciaga leaned into the fun and the fashion-focused side of the snaps with its new Le City bag campaign.

In a cheeky move, the brand pulled celebrity street shots from the early 2000s that saw stars like Paris Hilton, Tyra Banks, Alek Wek, and Claudia Schiffer carrying the iconic Le City bag.

However, to honor the latest iteration, the house had these images digitally altered to make it look like the stars were carrying the newest version, as a way to demonstrate the timelessness of the accessory. As a playful touch, the photos even included a fake watermark to make them look like stock images.

Nicely done, Balenciaga. You can shop the latest Le City bag here.

Fondazione Prada’s Latest Exhibit Explores the Behind-the-Scenes Art of Filmmaking

Fondazione Prada is a cultural institution that was founded by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli in 1993 as a way to celebrate contemporary art and culture. Their latest exhibition, titled “A Kind of Language: Storyboards and Other Renderings for Cinema,” celebrates the art of filmmaking by shedding light on the creative work that happens behind the scenes to help develop a film, from storyboarding, to sketching, to scrapbooking, and more.

The show was curated by Melissa Harris, who said in a statement, “For many, storyboarding is an integral part of the process: visually setting a scene and then plotting out its ebbs and flows may help the film team consider relationships between characters, figure out how to advance the narrative, or realize how to convey the essence of a particular segment. It may also help to troubleshoot, say, when something does not seem quite convincing in a character or a physical interaction, or even provide visual references for the actors. More technically (and as deployed early on by Méliès), storyboards can help the filmmaker to determine the most effective angles for lighting and shooting, or the best use of dissolves and other potential special effects.”

You can see the exhibition now, which is open through September 8, 2025, at the Osservatorio in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. Get your tickets here.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
