The Man That Rescues Dogs’ upcoming book will help raise funds for strays
According to EIN Presswire, Michael J. Baines will launch his first-ever memoir, “Home. Made.,” on Aug. 26. It will follow his journey as a Swedish chef, touching upon his struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. In The Man That Rescues Dogs’ upcoming book, he talks about leaving behind his very successful culinary job to start a dog rescue in Thailand.
The rescue took to Instagram to announce the news, stating that the royalties from the memoir will be donated to the foundation. Thus, readers will directly support The Man That Rescues Dogs when they purchase the book. The memoir will help support the life-saving care for over 1,000 canines, including over 750 rescues in their facility and about 400 strays that the rescue feeds and monitors.
The book recounts some beautiful rescue stories, including pups that have found a forever home after being saved by The Man That Rescues Dogs. Baines also discusses the development of pet culture in Thailand in the memoir. The dog rescue now has more than 30 staff members who help rescue and treat the canines.
Moreover, “Home. Made.” is also where the chef recounts his issues with drug and alcohol addiction. After years of struggling with the same, in 2002, Baines decided it was time for a fresh start and moved to Thailand. While furthering his career as a chef, he dedicated the time he had left after work to helping strays.
About his book, Baines noted, “It is the story of my life, but more importantly, it’s the story of my dogs’ lives — they’re far more interesting and inspiring than I am…”
