The notion of gathering expert craftspeople to elevate their skills and broaden their reach is nothing new – it’s pretty much how the Medicis got the ball rolling for the Renaissance. But as technology becomes ever more present in our daily lives, keeping artisan traditions alive gets harder. It’s Matteo de Rosa’s job to reverse that.

“There are two ways to describe what I do,” says de Rosa. “One is about the technicality. Which is physically helping the métiers d’art of the group, supporting [our brands] and delivering materials for their products. The other side is preserving supply chains and ensuring excellency and consistency in those for many years to come.” But essentially, he says, “it all comes down to materials. They are at the core of what we do.”
