Mashed.com released their list of best gas station hot dogs in America, and kind of surprisingly, you can find a few in the Land of Lincoln.
QuikTrip’s Hot Dogs Are a Must-Try in Illinois
First and foremost, hot dogs at a QuikTrip are apparently a must in Illinois. The best part is that if you live in Rockford, you won’t have to go too far because they have plenty of locations in The Forest City. The offerings include a jalapeno cheddar smoked sausage that diehards say is “legit elite.”
You can throw Fritos, Sriracha Ranch, and even a dash of celery salt to top that bad boy off. Even more stunning, Oscar Mayer is the provider of these dogs, which, while hot dog snobs may be turned off, you’ll have to admit taste pretty darn good.

A Kwik Trip Snub That Has Fans Confused
I was stunned to see the other quick-trip gas station, Kwik Trip, left off the list. I had a hot dog from their gas station just a few weeks ago, and it was low-key decent.
