PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The Humane Society of Parkersburg fostered dogs and cats for the holidays.
A total of six dogs were fostered out to foster families for Christmas and New Years. Some of these families have informed the shelter that they would like to foster them for longer.
Shelter manager, Samantha Tannous, said fostering has many benefits for the animals.
The shelter had a similar event for Thanksgiving. All of the animals have found forever homes since then. Over the summer, over 200 kittens have been fostered or have found forever homes.
The shelter doesn’t have a lot of foster families for dogs. Despite the small number, that number has slowly grown.
Samantha said she is grateful for the foster families.
The Humane Society of Parkersburg needs foster families for large dogs and puppies. If you are interested in fostering animals with them, you can visit their website and fill out the form.
