Texas man arrested after leaving his dog in hot car while at the beach

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A Texas man has been arrested in Walton County after leaving his dog in a hot car on Saturday.

According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to Scenic Gulf Drive after multiple reports of a small dog in a hot car for about an hour. Officials say the car wasn’t on and the windows were slightly cracked open.

Deputies say they opened the vehicle using a lock-out kit, and the Yorkie was pulled out and given water.

We’re told deputies called the number on the dog’s collar and later, 26-year-old Andy Matute Villatoro arrived. He was placed under arrest for animal cruelty.

He was reportedly at the beach.

Officials say Walton County Animal Services arrived and tested temperature the inside the vehicle; readings came back at 120°.

Villatoro was given a $1,000 bond.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
