Tallahassee police warn residents after gang of dogs attack, causing serious injuries

The Tallahassee Police Department is warning residents in west Tallahassee to be on the lookout for a dog who may have joined four others in attacking a person just before noon on Sunday.

Oficers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Lipona Road off Jackson Bluff Road in reference to an animal attack at about 11:30 a.m.

“Officers arrived to locate a victim with serious, but non-life threatening injuries from being bitten by several dogs,” according to a TPD incident alert on social media. “Witnesses described seeing 4-5 dogs conduct the attack. The dogs ran before law enforcement arrived on scene.”

Police managed to locate four of the dogs and they were taken into custody by animal control.

“Due to witnesses describing 4-5 dogs, there might still be one on the loose,” the incident alert stated. “Citizens are encouraged to contact law enforcement if they see a loose dog in the area. Do not approach and call law enforcement.”

Officers also warned spectators, volunteers and participants of the Capital City Marathon to be aware of their surroundings.

If any loose or aggressive dogs are seen by citizens, they are urged to call 850-891-4200.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
