DeSoto, TX – DeSoto police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect who abandoned an injured and vulnerable dog in an alley early Wednesday morning.
A DeSoto resident reported finding a female English bulldog left in a narrow alley near Williams Avenue and Gilbert Avenue. Security footage shows the dog being abandoned around 6:44 a.m.
The resident shared surveillance video with police, capturing the distressing moment the dog was left behind.
Animal control officers responded to the scene and found the dog in “notably poor condition.” They carefully transported her to a local animal shelter, where she received medical care.
In a statement, DeSoto police said no animal should be treated this way and emphasized their commitment to holding the person responsible accountable.

Police are asking for help identifying the driver of a silver Chrysler 300 with black rims and a prominent dent on the passenger door.
