Suffolk SPCA: Brentwood woman charged with animal cruelty

Two dogs that were found in deplorable conditions inside a Brentwood home last week are up for adoption.

The staff at the Islip Animal Shelter say they are healthy, clean and ready for a new home.

The Suffolk SPCA says the dogs were living in a Brentwood home near buckets of urine and crack cocaine. Their owner, Stacy Zimmer, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty on Wednesday after a search warrant was executed.

The home was labeled as unfit for human occupancy by Smithtown Town Code Enforcement.

“Upon execution of the warrant, we found the conditions to be the same as described. There was urine, feces, trash, cobwebs, hundreds of flies strewn about the residence, foul smells,” said Detective Sgt. Joseph Galante.

Anyone interested in adopting the dogs should contact the Islip Town Shelter.

Zimmer will face a judge on March 7.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
