Kolkata: A street dog was found dead, and several others were in critical condition after allegedly being poisoned outside a prominent housing complex and shopping mall in New Town. The incident, which came to light on Friday morning, sparked outrage among local animal lovers and prompted an FIR at Techno City PS under the Bidhannagar Commissionerate.According to residents and caregivers, five dogs were found lying unconscious outside the residential complex on Friday. While two recovered with initial treatment, the others were admitted to the NKDA animal hospital in serious condition, where one of them later died. “We are looking into all angles, including CCTV footage, to identify those responsible,” said an officer of Bidhannagar City Police. tnn
