BEND, Ore. — Street Dog Hero welcomed 25 rescue dogs from Oklahoma Friday.
The rescue flight from a shelter in Norman, Oklahoma, landed at Bend Municipal Airport. Recent wildfires there have pushed the already overcrowded Oklahoma shelter into a state of emergency. Some shelters in the area are at 150% capacity.
Street Dog Hero said the rescue dogs were at risk due to overcrowding and a record number of puppies. The goal is to find foster or forever homes for these pups as soon as possible.
