Staunton woman arrested after dogs found dead in apartment

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) – The Staunton Police Department arrested Kimberley Shepard after two dogs were found dead in her apartment.

SPD received a tip on Sept. 21 from a concerned resident about Shepard housing deceased animals. After receiving the information, SPD officers went to Shepard’s apartment to interview her, but she wasn’t there when officers arrived. According to court documents, police contacted her at a separate apartment.

According to an affidavit, officers spoke with Shepard and she let them look inside the home. Deputies allegedly found a small dog dead on the floor within sight of the front door. After SPD arrested her, court documents reveal she admitted to having two dogs dead in the apartment but was not aware of when they died. She believed that one died within a week of the arrest, and another around two weeks before SPD found them.

According to responding officers, the apartment was found in “disarray.” Shepard is scheduled to appear in Staunton General District Court on Wednesday.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
