Stark County deputies shoot, kill 2 dogs, cite owner

CANTON, Ohio (WOIO) – A Stark County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed two dogs Sunday and then cited their owner.

According to a release from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), deputies were called to the 2200 block of 22nd Street in Canton for help with two loose dogs.

The release said homeowners on that street were feeding the dogs when the dogs became aggressive. The homeowners then called dispatch for help.

When the deputies responded to the home, they spoke with the homeowners through their doorbell camera.

The release said during the conversation, the dogs charged at a deputy and cornered him.

In response, the deputy shot and killed both dogs, according to the release.

Deputies were able to identify the dogs’ owners through microchips.

The owner was found several miles away and said the dogs had been loose since May 3.

Deputies then cited the owner for allowing dogs to be at large.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
