PALMYRA, WIS. — Spirited Paw®, a Standard Process® brand, recently announced the launch of Calm — a calming supplement for dogs and cats in a chewable wafer format. The supplement is designed to promote calm demeanor, aid in relaxation and help pets manage behavior in stressful situations.
Like all Spirited Paw products, Calm is made by Standard Process and contains science-backed ingredients, as well as plant-based nutrients grown on Standard Process’ 868-acre USDA Certified Organic farm.
“These wafers are a great and effective supplement to help enhance your pet’s relaxation regimen,” said Katrina Verdeur, product development manager for pet products at Standard Process. “Starting with active doses of L-theanine, L-tryptophan and magnesium, then adding chamomile extract, ginger, kalette, apple and liver powders, this product was designed to support calming with effective, friendly ingredients.”
L-theanine has been clinically tested in both cats and dogs, and L-tryptophan has been clinically tested in dogs; both show favorable results in promoting calm behavior. Marine-derived magnesium also helps to actively support a normal stress response, according to Standard Process. Additionally, the chamomile extract, ginger and organic kalette used in the supplement are all grown at the Standard Process farm.
