CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The League for Animal Welfare is hoping to find its shelter dogs a forever family. Many of the dogs have been waiting for more than four years to get adopted.
A black terrier and pit bull mix, named Mabel, has been waiting for eight years to be adopted. Staff say she has the sweetest demeanor but can’t be around other animals, which holds her back from getting adopted.
“People return her not because of her behavior. She’s an angel in the house, but because she has pit bull in her, she needs to be protected from other dogs because of her past,” said Ronni Valle, the canine enrichment leader.
You can visit these furry friends at The League for Animal Shelter located at 4193 Taylor Rd in Batavia.
The shelter is teaming up with Petco Amelia for an adoption event on March 1 from noon until 4 p.m. You can visit Mabel and lots of other dogs to see which is the best fit for you.
All cats and dogs at the shelter are microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered.
