The Smith County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the killing of two dogs found shot in a wooded area with their eyes missing.
Animal control responded after a Smith County resident discovered two dead dogs near the intersection of CR 455 and CR 452 in the northern part of the county and contacted authorities. Sgt. Larry Christian, public information officer for the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, said the dogs had been there for some time and that deputies believe other animals were responsible for their missing eyes.
In an effort to find the person responsible, Nicholas Pet Haven (NPH) is offering a $1,000 reward.
