Small explosion and fire damages Greenwood home; Dogs rescued
The Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Pine Tree Drive in Greenwood on Wednesday morning.A passerby reported smoke and a small explosion at 9:44 a.m.The homeowner, who was not home, called 911 after seeing the fire on a security camera.Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames at the back of the house and rescued three dogs.The fire, which was under control by 10:02 a.m., caused extensive damage and is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.
