Six in Blount County facing charges after 12 dogs, 13 cats rescued during freeze: report

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – Six people in Blount County are facing charges after police said they left 12 dogs and 13 cats in harmful conditions or outside during last week’s winter storm.

It happened on Wednesday, Jan. 8, according to a police report from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office. The report named Lynn Youngen, Albert Youngen, William Youngen, Madison Huskey, Kari Cross and Julia Youngen as the suspects.

According to the responders, the group left several dogs tied up or in cages outside during the freeze (the report said the temperature at the time was 25 degrees). The officers’ reports also said that the dogs and cats were left in their own urine and feces with nothing to eat or drink.

The animals were taken to the Blount County Animal Shelter for help, the report said. It added that all the animals were underweight and dehydrated.

Each suspect is facing several counts of animal cruelty charges.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
