Six dogs rescued from Las Vegas apartment unit after owners evicted

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Six dogs were left abandoned in an apartment unit after their owners were evicted.

It was uncovered on Wednesday by local animal advocate Gina Greisen with Nevada Voters for Animals.

Nevada SPCA said in a news release Friday that a rescue operation revealed five bulldogs and one pitbull were left without food and water.

“The call came after the tenants turned in their keys and apartment management discovered the dogs had been abandoned with the unit left in deplorable conditions,” the shelter said.

That is when NSPCA staff and volunteers rushed to the apartment complex to assist management. All six dogs are now under the care of the shelter.

“These animals were living in extremely filthy conditions,” said Megan Waldron, Nevada SPCA Animal Care Director. “We are committed to ensuring that these dogs are now safe and will receive the care they need.”

The dogs are undergoing medical evaluations and getting updated vaccinations. The shelter said they will be spayed or neutered before they are put up for adoption.

This case is currently under investigation by Clark County Animal Protective Services.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
