Shoplifting suspect drops Coach handbag, state ID fleeing Macy’s, PBSO says

Dropping a designer-labelled handbag with your I.D. card in it may not be the best idea when running from deputies. A shoplifting suspect appears to have learned that the hard way after she allegedly tried stealing hundreds of dollars-worth of merchandise from a Wellington mall.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), a deputy was patrolling the Mall at Wellington Green shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday when a security officer reported a theft from the mall’s Macy’s store.

When the deputy arrived, a loss prevention officer (LPO) explained that a woman went into the department store and grabbed nearly $650 worth of items. The suspect did not have that stuff long, however, according to the PBSO statement.

When she made for the door without paying, the LPO tried to stop her until deputies arrived, the statement continued. The woman managed to get away, but not before dropping the items she allegedly tried swiping – and a blue Coach-branded handbag that contained her state assistance I.D. card as well as other possessions.

The statement from the Sheriff’s Office did not indicate if deputies have arrested anyone in connection with the attempted theft.

The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
