Last week, Summit County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to shots fired at prairie dogs, helped find a family heirloom and gave a ride home to an intoxicated man that had scared a couple awake at night.

The following incidents occurred between Monday, May 12, and Sunday, May 18, according to the weekly log of notable calls published by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

A woman Monday reported to deputies that a friend was acting erratically and took her cosmetic bag containing jewelry and ran off. The woman had not seen the friend for 10-15 minutes when she called and suspected she might be hiding in the woods or heading towards a bus station, as the friend lives in Eagle County and the woman was her ride home. Deputies searched for the friend but were unable to locate her. The woman did not want to press charges — just get her jewelry back — and the investigation is ongoing.

Also Monday, a man in unincorporated Breckenridge reported a dispute between himself and an adjacent property owner who had started developing on his property. The man reported the property owner and his contractor were on his property and driveway and he had asked them to leave. The property owner became verbally aggressive but did not make any threats, and he left by the time deputies arrived. The county engineering department confirmed there may be a discrepancy between surveying and building plans, and it stated it would address the issue. Deputies found nothing criminal.

A woman staying in a short-term rental in Keystone reported to deputies Monday she had left a valuable, family heirloom ring in the unit when she checked out. She called the host when she realized she had left it, went back into the unit and discovered it had already been cleaned and her ring was gone. Deputies contacted property management to get information on the host and cleaning company they used. The next day, deputies received a call from the woman, who claimed the cleaning staff had taken her ring. As a deputy headed towards the condo, they received a report of harassment. The cleaning woman reported the woman had called her multiple times, yelling, cursing and accusing her of theft. The deputy assisted the cleaning woman in trying to find the ring at the condo, and although they were unsuccessful at first, they cut into the vacuum bag used to clean the room and found the ring. The woman apologized, happy to have her ring back, and agreed to not contact the cleaning woman again.

An intoxicated man scared awake a married couple in unincorporated Breckenridge on Tuesday by crawling in their yard outside their bedroom window. The husband went outside to confront the man, who was on his hands and knees, claiming he had fallen and lost his phone in the yard. The intoxicated man left after the husband confronted him, and the husband found the man’s phone in the yard after he had left. Deputies found the man several blocks away, stumbling down the road, returned his phone to him and gave him a courtesy ride home, where they released him to a sober person.

Multiple residents of Silverthorne reported a neighbor shooting at prairie dogs from his balcony Wednesday. They expressed concerns about nearby horses and general safety. Deputies responded and found no criminal violations with what the man was doing, but he agreed to stop, as he was unaware it was disturbing his neighbors.

A woman from unincorporated Silverthorne reported being harassed by her neighbor Thursday. She said the neighbor had pulled up next to her, using his vehicle to stop her, and yelled at her for driving too fast for his liking for a second time. The man told deputies the woman drives over the posted speed limit on their private road and plans to speak to her landlord. Deputies advised the two to keep their distance from each other and stop contacting one another. They found nothing criminal.

A property manager and owner reported Friday that an evicted tenant, upset over not getting his security deposit back, had left them angry voicemail messages. The manager blocked him, but the owner had not, as the man was calling the owner on a landline phone. Deputies left a voicemail for the tenant and advised him to cease communication with the manager and owner if he did not want to be charged with harassment. Deputies gave the owner information on how to block a phone number from a landline, took a report and will continue attempting to contact the tenant.

On Saturday, a woman in unincorporated Breckenridge reported her intoxicated roommate had kicked a hole in the wall near her bedroom door. The two had gotten in a physical altercation earlier in the evening, and the roommate was still angry once they were home. The woman locked herself in her room and waited for deputies to arrive. Deputies charged the woman with assault for the earlier altercation and gave the roommate a summons for criminal mischief.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
