The man who had been housing the dogs is facing criminal charges after a deadly attack in Pima County.
PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. — A man is dead after he was apparently attacked by a pack of dogs in southern Arizona.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said 43-year-old Kevin Renguu was found lying in the roadway on the morning of March 30 suffering from severe injuries. Renguu was taken to the hospital and died on April 2.
Investigators learned Renguu was allegedly attacked by five dogs that had escaped from a nearby property. The sheriff’s department said the dogs had a history of being “aggressive” and previously attacked a neighbor.
Martin Martinez, 60, had been caring for the dogs and was arrested by the sheriff’s department. He is facing a charge of manslaughter. The county has taken custody of all the dogs.
The investigation is ongoing.
