“Shelters all across Massachusetts are full with no end in sight” Those taking in animals attempting the impossible

October is “Adopt a Shelter Dog” month, and Massachusetts shelters are hoping that means more residents will adopt dogs in their care.

While only 3 of the 21 dogs out of New Bedford that were surrendered to Forever Paws in Fall River remain, the shelter is far from in the clear. Like many shelters in Massachusetts, they are constantly full as of late.

“The shelters all across Massachusetts are full with no end in sight. We are doing our very best to help everyone in need however it is proving to be impossible, as soon as 2 dogs leave, 3 come in.”

Here are some of the dogs currently waiting for adoption on Lynwood Street.

Forever Paws responded to some complaints concerning having to own your own home to adopt some of the dogs.

“In regard to having to own your own home- it’s because so many of these dogs are restricted breeds that landlords won’t allow, or think they will allow until their home insurance goes up and then they tell the tenant they need to return the dog. Just keep in mind that, if there’s a stipulation for it, it’s because something awful has happened enough times that the stipulation has had to be put into place.”

The shelter states that with so many animals in the shelter, their expenses continue to rise such as medical care, spay and neuter services, vaccines, medications, etc.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
