HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – An 8-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after being attacked by a pitbull, officials said.
Officials said the attack occurred in the 21200 block of Shadow River Lane on Tuesday afternoon in Harris County.

When deputies arrived, officials said they found an 8-year-old boy was attacked and bitten by a pitbull.
The child is being treated for his injuries.

Animal Control officials were also contacted.
Officials are also asking residents to leash their dogs saying, “Even dogs that are off leash trained should be on a leash when in public spaces. This is for the safety of everyone. An unleashed dog approaching can make dogs and people uncomfortable.”
