SOUTHINGTON, CT — Several people and two small dogs were injured in a scary, multi-vehicle crash in Southington Tuesday afternoon, but it appears all will recover.

That’s when the vehicle crossed the double-yellow line and sideswiped a vehicle traveling north on Queen Street, then another vehicle traveling north head-on, police said.

The second vehicle heading north rolled over, with a fourth vehicle involved — one traveling north — also impacted by the accident, police said.

Southington police said multiple people in the vehicles were transported by American Medical Response personnel to area hospitals, all being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said one of the vehicles involved was transporting two small dogs, both of which were injured, but those injuries were deemed to be minor.

The Southington Police Department’s animal control division immediately took care of the two dogs.

Police said no identities were being released as of Wednesday morning and the investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Southington Police Department Officer Joseph Grigarek at 860-621-0101, ext. 2387.
