Several dogs killed in south Phoenix mobile home fire

Multiple dogs were killed in a mobile home fire in south Phoenix on Friday.

The fire sparked just before 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 3 near 40th Street and Baseline Road.

Phoenix Fire says crews arrived at the scene and found a large column of smoke and fire coming from the home. The homeowner alerted firefighters that several dogs were trapped inside.

“Firefighters were able to rescue four of the dogs, unfortunately, a new littler [sic] of puppies and several other dogs perished in the fire,” Capt. Rob McDade said.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes.

Investigators are working to determine what sparked the flames, but they say space heaters were found inside the home.

No firefighters were hurt.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
