
NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WJAR) — Seventeen dogs escaped from a car in Narragansett Wednesday afternoon.
RISPCA said 17 Malinois dogs traveling from New York to Maine escaped while pulled over in the Salt Pond Shopping Center.
Officials said six of the dogs were taken by RISPCA, with one injured.
According to officials, a person who knew the dogs and owner also agreed to take three of them.
The owner was allowed to keep five that were bonded with him, and ordered to return to New York.
Officials said the man was not arrested.
His name was not released.
