Don’t mess with Doodle! The 17-year-old Golden Retriever is being heralded a hero after facing off against a bear that somehow got into his Monrovia, California home. The dog managed to stand his ground even after the bear started coming towards him. And he had no fear when it came to the much larger animal.

Footage of the amazing incident was shared by KCAL in California and shows the Golden going on the defensive. This old dog still has a lot of bite!

The footage was taken by resident Zoe Cadman, who was stunned when she watched what her security camera recorded. The woman woke up to a bear in her living room. But thankfully she wasn’t alone.

“Security camera video caught the moment a bear came nose-to-nose with Cadman’s 17-year-old dog named Doodle in her living room over the weekend,” the video’s caption states.

It was like the senior Golden Retriever inherently knew what to do. The video shows the dog defending his home from the hairy intruder as the bear tried to pass. Sadly, the dog seemed to sense that he wouldn’t be able to hold the bear off, so he disappeared to let his humans know that something was wrong.

“Other residents in the Southern California neighborhood say the same bear has been ransacking refrigerators and swimming in pools in the area,” the caption reads.

The situation would be scary for anyone, let alone a senior Golden. Which is why people were both impressed by the dog and scared for him.

“Poor dog is 17. He don’t need this kinda stress!” wrote one commenter.

“Aww poor baby tried to stand his ground he must’ve been so scared,” another person wrote.

“I’m still blown away that this dog is 17! I mean that dog can move. But then again it’s not everyday he has to protect the house from a bear. He had to pull everything he had out for that,” pointed out someone else.

While another commenter answered the question we were all wondering:

“The dog is all okay! Just watched the news on the TV. Dog is unharmed,” they wrote.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
