Peyton Williams drove in three runs, Devereaux Harrison struck out eight and allowed just two hits over five innings, and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats ended Portland’s season-opening four-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory Wednesday night at Hadlock Field.
Williams belted a two-run homer in the third inning against Sea Dogs starter Blake Wehunt, then added an RBI single in the seventh.
Mark Kolozsvary singled home Portland’s only run in the fourth inning, following walks to Max Ferguson and Tyler Miller.
The Sea Dogs finished with just four hits.
Wehunt, making his second start for the Sea Dogs, struck out six in 3 1/3 innings but gave up four hits and three runs, two earned.
Wehunt and relievers Reidis Sena, Alex Hoppe and Jonathan Brand combined for 18 strikeouts.
