Portland Sea Dogs starter David Sandlin has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Sandlin pitched a seven-inning complete game in the opener of Portland’s doubleheader against the Altoona Curve on Thursday. He struck out eight, allowed three hits and walked one.
In nine games this season (eight starts), Sandlin has 45 strikeouts in 53 innings.
Portland opens a six-game series at Hadlock Field against the Hartford Yard Goats on Tuesday.
