Sea Dogs improve to 2-0 on opening trip

David Sandlin and three relievers combined on a six-hitter, and the Portland Sea Dogs again took advantage of the wildness of Fightin Phils pitchers as they improved to 2-0 with a 7-4 Eastern League win Saturday in Reading, Pennsylvania.

The Sea Dogs were held to seven hits but were aided by six walks, a hit batsman, two errors, a wild pitch, two passed balls and a balk. Three of their runs were unearned.

Portland grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning. After singles by Luis Ravelo and Caden Rose, Corey Rosier hit an RBI single, and an outfield error allowed Rose to score all the way from first. Ahbram Liendo then singled home Rosier.

Max Ferguson scored on an error in the third, and Jhostynxon Garcia scored on a passed ball in the fifth. Ravelo added a two-run double in the seventh.

The only damage against Sandlin was a two-run homer by Paul McIntosh in the fourth inning. Sandlin allowed three hits and three walks and struck out three in five innings.

Zach Bryant got the final out for a save after entering with the bases loaded.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
