PORTLAND, Maine — The Portland Sea Dogs faced off against the Akron Rubber Ducks in the second game of their series at Delta Dental Park. Despite a strong defensive play by Sea Dogs second baseman Max Ferguson in the fifth inning, the team was unable to secure a victory.
The Sea Dogs were trailing 1-0 in the fifth when Ferguson made a standout defensive play, described as a “defensive web gem.” Later in the inning, Akron had runners on base, humorously referred to as “ducks on the pond.” However, Sea Dogs reliever Christopher Troye managed to strike out a batter to end the threat.
Despite these efforts, the Sea Dogs ultimately fell to the Rubber Ducks with a final score of 6-3. The two teams are set to face each other again tomorrow night at Delta Dental Park.
