Close to 30 dogs were saved after a home partially collapsed in Mount Tabor on Tuesday. Local fire officials responded to the scene on Brooklyn Road after getting a call about the collapse. In a post on social media, Vermont’s Urban Search and Rescue Team said they were able to save all but one dog inside. The dogs have been taken to the Rutland County Humane Society, which was also on the scene during the rescue.”We brought individual crates for each of them, so they each went into their own crate,” executive director Beth Saradarian said. “We took a couple different trips back.”Currently, the pups are safe and receiving care. “Most of them are in pretty good shape,” Saradarian said. “Some of them we’re still just checking all of them in. They’re getting vaccinated, they’re being tested for tick borne illnesses like heartworm and a plasma cases and Lyme.”The Humane Society is still determining if or when the animals will be up for adoption.
