Slyvester Askew, 59 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he starved and neglected numerous dogs at his home on Hasty Road.
Reports said that both dogs were found with a body condition of 1 out of 9 on the Purina scale. The dogs showed no fat on the ribs with their skin sunk in around the ribs. The ribs, spine and pelvic bones were all seen from a distance. All of its incisors were also worn down which is common with chronic itching.
Askew is charged with two counts aggravated cruelty to animals.
