Rockford bar brings back night of dogs, drinks and donations

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A Rockford restaurant and bar puts together a night of games, drinks and canine fun.

Ernie’s Midtown Pub, 1025 Fifth Ave., invites you and your dog(s) to its Midtown Dog Walk, which is back for the summer 2025 season.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the last Thursday of every month in summer, the parking lot will be blocked off for the event.

Activities include dog pools, water bowls for dogs, corn hole, giant Jenga, music, food, drinks and more.

On Thursday, May 29, the Canine Crunchery will have treats, 815 Realtors will have free frisbees and Winnebago County Animal Services will have three adoptable dogs.

Ernie’s also asks attendees to bring a donation to help support the shelter. Their most-needed donations are canned/wet dog food, dry and wet kitten food, large socks (for rice warmers), large Kongs and soft dog treats.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
