Dog bite, Substation Road
A resident was cited for failing to restrain his dogs following a report of a dog bite at his home at 1:20 p.m. March 2. Police found the resident in the front yard trying to catch his two dogs. The reported victim was hiding inside a car in the driveway. The victim later told police he was at the home to help the dog owner move when one of the dogs, an 8-year-old Boxer mix, came out of the house and bit the victim on the leg and the wrist. The owner said the dog was up to date on shots but reportedly could not provide documentation. Police noted this was the third such incident reported at the residence in the past year.
Burglary/trespassing, Pebble Creek Pass
Police responded to a call from a resident who said she witnessed two men breaking into her neighbor’s house at 6:11 p.m. March 5. The caller said she suspected the men may be two tenants recently evicted from the home. Police found one of the two suspects at the home and charged him with trespassing, burglary and possession of criminal tools. When officers told the man he was not allowed to be at his former residence, he reportedly replied he had nowhere else to go. He was taken to the Medina County Jail.
Civil matter, Topaz Lane
A woman reported finding the locks changed on a house she bought at a Sheriff’s auction at 2:50 p.m. March 7. The woman said a mortgage company had left a note on the door and changed the locks, damaging the front door in the process. Police helped the woman get inside her house and determined the matter was civil in nature.
