Rescued dogs find refuge in Dublin after dramatic two-week rescue effort in Fresno County

Two dogs are now safe and sound and looking for a forever home in Dublin after they were dumped in the middle of a country road in Fresno County.

They were spotted near a private property near Dakota and Rolinda Avenues.

Several local dog lovers and rescuers tried to catch them for at least two weeks.

Finally, a happy ending was captured on video on Tuesday.

Monica Saldivar, who advocated on social media for the dogs to get rescued took them to ABC Animal Rescue in Dublin.

She says she knows animal shelters in the valley are packed so she didn’t think twice when the rescue out-of-town reached out to her.

The two dogs had been out in the open surviving as strays, rain or shine.

Another rescuer named David Ledger said, “I came out, around midnight, the night before last to about 3 in the morning but didn’t have any luck.”

Saldivar had brought out a tent for shelter, food, and water to gain their trust.

But at one point, someone didn’t agree with that tactic and was caught on camera destroying the makeshift shelter with a tractor.

It was a camera that Ledger had installed near where the dogs were staying.

In video that Saldivar shared on Facebook before the dogs were captured, she is heard saying, “This is where they are at now. He is trying to destroy their little house. So, they can just move on. This just sucks. I don’t even know what to do anymore.”

Brett Englemann, the owner of the property says he was happy to hear the dogs were caught and nothing happened to them, as coyotes do roam the area.

Englemann says he has rescued a stray before.

“I mean it’s once or twice a month and it’s just it breaks your heart that these people are doing this. I can’t imagine dropping an animal and just wave goodbye as you drive away. I just can’t handle that,” he said.

Just last night, Englemann says, he learned on social media how much some people were going out of their way to help these dogs.

Englemann said, “It sounds like they had every dog whisperer in town in the area trying to catch these two dogs because even last night, I looked out the bathroom window several times. I mean, it was midnight, and there are still headlights over there.”

Saldivar said, “It’s like we can’t just keep driving. We want to pull over and like, oh, my gosh, let me go help save them. I know we can’t save them all but at least try to save the ones we do see.”

She also only had good things to say about the owners for giving them permission to be on site as they tried to rescue them.

She said they even thanked her.

“They were very nice people,” she pointed out.

As you heard Englemann say, dog dumping happens often out there.

He also said there is a lot of illegal trash dumping such as couches and furniture too.

He says he is constantly having to report it.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
