Rescue dogs perish in van fire

A van transporting rescue dogs caught fire in Madison County late Friday night, killing seven animals.  The driver was able to escape and pull four of the dogs to safety along the side of Interstate 270 around 11:30pm on Friday.  The dogs were being taken to New York by Cypress Lake Mutt Rescue.

Illinois State Police say the Mercedes Transit Van was carrying the dogs in kennels when it caught fire around mile post 11.  The driver and bystanders assisted in the rescue while an Illinois State Police trooper helped put out the fire.  The four dogs pulled from the fire were not injured and have arrived safely to their adoptive families, according to a post on the organization’s Facebook page. The group is based out of Houston, Texas.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
