GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Republican Vice-Presidential Nominee JD Vance is in Eastern Carolina campaigning for a 2024 election win.
Vance and his wife Usha Vance landed just after 2:30 p.m. today at Pitt-Greenville Airport before heading out with a caravan of vehicles.
Vance’s first stop was at popular sports bar Sup Dogs in downtown Greenville where customers are preparing to watch ECU vs. App State at 4 p.m. Vance spoke with several college aged people during the stop.
The Republican nominee is now at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium watching the Pirates take on the Mountaineers.
It’s the second time within a week that Vance has been in Greenville.
He was here on Tuesday for a private fundraising event at the home of Barbara and Bubba Rawl off Highway 43.
North Carolina is a battleground state in the race between former President Donald Trump and Vice-President Kamala Harris.
An August poll by the ECU Center for Survey Research showed that Trump had a one percentage point lead over Harris among registered voters in the state who plan to vote in the election.
