Racine officer rescues man and two dogs from house fire

RACINE, Wis. (WISN) — A Wisconsin police officer is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a man and two dogs from a burning home on Tuesday.

The dramatic rescue occurred in Racine and was captured on police body camera footage.

According to the Racine Police Department, Officer Golden rushed toward the home engulfed in flames without protective gear.

“The officer was able to break into the home through the back door and found the adult unconscious on the floor and dragged him outside the burning building,” the fire department said.

Family members told our Milwaukee affiliate that as of Wednesday night, the father of three remains in the hospital, while the two children are home and healthy.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire department estimates that the blaze caused $63,000 in structural damage and $17,000 in damage to the home’s contents.

Authorities say there are no suspicions of criminal activity.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
