Queen Camilla Shares 1st Photo of New Rescue Dog Moley

Queen Camilla is all smiles while cuddling up with new rescue dog, Moley.

Camilla, 77, sat down outside while wearing a floral dress and purple cardigan and clutched Moley to her chest as she looked at the camera, in a picture shared via Instagram on Sunday, May 18.

“Meet mischievous Moley, The Queen’s new much-loved canine companion who was recently adopted from @Battersea where Her Majesty is Patron,” the caption of the royal family’s official Instagram read. “🌺 Tomorrow, The Queen will visit @The_RHS and @BBCRadio2 Dog Garden at Chelsea Flower Show.”

The garden, which was designed with dogs at the focus, featured “grass areas for dogs to enjoy and a large tree providing shade.”

“The brick paths are inscribed with the names of dogs belonging to Radio 2 presenters and RHS ambassadors, as well as Monty Don’s beloved dog Ned, to reflect the special place dogs hold in the nation’s hearts and gardens,” the caption read. “The names of The Queen’s adopted Jack Russell Terrier, Bluebell and her new puppy, Moley, will feature on the path, alongside that of her much loved dog Beth, who passed away last year.”

Snuff — the dog of Camilla’s husband, King Charles III — will also be included on the path. (Camila and Charles, 76, tied the knot in 2005, nearly two decades before he was crowned King.)

“The Garden for Dogs will live on after RHS Chelsea, at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home,” the caption concluded.

Camilla shared in February that she and Charles adopted a new dog following the November 2024 death of Beth, the couple’s late Jack Russell terrier. (Camilla and Charles rescued Beth in 2011 and added another Jack Russell terrier named Bluebell to their family the following year, the Daily Mail reported.)

“I’ve just got a new puppy, who is 8 weeks old,” Camilla said, while patting an assistance dog in a video shared to X by the Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English. “It’s a rescue dog. It’s called Moley — it looks just like a mole.”

Moley was adopted from Battersea, an animal rescue center in the U.K., where Camilla is a patron.

“We’re pleased to confirm that Battersea has recently rehomed an 8-week-old Jack Russell terrier cross female puppy, called Moley, to our Patron, Her Majesty The Queen,” a spokesperson for Battersea told the Daily Mail. “The Queen has long been a supporter of Battersea’s work and has previously rehomed two rescue dogs from our charity.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
