An adorable puppy has left the internet teary-eyed after she couldn’t find her owner after waking up from a nap.
Meredith Hayden (@meredith_hayden on TikTok) shared the heartfelt footage of her sleepy pup trying to locate her mom in a video that has currently garnered 3.1 million views and over 727,000 likes on TikTok.
“She woke up from a nap and couldn’t find me,” the video’s text overlay reads.
The pooch looks around confusedly in the aftermath of a deep sleep. Then, she spots her beloved owner and bounds toward her gleefully. Delighted to reunite with her mom, she wags her tail uncontrollably.

Dogs often display extra affection after waking up, according to an artile from Trusted Housesitters.
Dogs sleep patterns are ruled by their circadian rhythms (body clocks), and their energy levels are replenished after a good sleep. This surge in energy often translates into a need for interaction, with morning cuddles being a common way for dogs to reconnect with their owners.
When it comes to puppies, proper rest is essential. According to Vets4Pets, eight-week-old puppies need around 18-20 hours of sleep per day to support their growth and development.
Regular rest also helps puppies recharge their energy, making them more playful and ready to engage with their environment. As they get older, they need less sleep, and adult dogs sleep 10-12 hours out of a 24-hour day.
